Galloping

Galloping is a combination of two locomotor movements, leaping and walking. The galloping movement moves forward or backward, but not to the side. Similar to sliding, the front foot always stays in front of the rear foot throughout the galloping movement.

The skill of galloping is commonly found in dance and sports such as Badminton and Table Tennis.

To ease the learning of the child, you can use the analogy of cat and mouse. The lead foot is the mouse while the rear foot is the mouse. The cat is always chasing the mouse, but every time the cat catches up with the mouse, the mouse will run further up.
