Bouncing

Bouncing is a manipulative skill whereby the child will track the upward and downward movement of the ball. They will push the ball down firmly so that the ball will rebound to allow them to bounce in a continuous movement. The child will contact the ball near the waist level.

The children will face challenges such as not being able to bounce in a continuous movement. Therefore, it is important to get the children to contact the ball consistently at waist level and allow them to imagine pushing the ball into the water so that they will exert enough force for the ball to bounce upwards. The child will also contact the ball with the fingers, instead of their palms.
